Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 NIV
Dieudonne International School was birthed through a God-given vision. It was established by Mr. & Mrs. Ocloo, both career educators. The late Mr Courage Ocloo worked in the field of education for 57 years. At the pinnacle of his career, he served as the Director of Education, Manpower Division at the Ghana Education Service. Mrs. Comfort Ocloo served as a French Teacher in Adonten Secondary School, Aburi and Achimota School, Accra.
They started the school as a community Christian school in September 1990 before they retired from active service. Upon retirement, Mr. Courage Ocloo assumed management of the school and held the fort in steady hands until Mrs. Comfort Ocloo joined him after going on voluntary retirement from Achimota School in 1997. With their combined experience as educators, they worked tirelessly to build the school.
The name “Dieudonne”, is a French word that means "Gift of God." Understanding that the school was a gift from God, the founders aptly settled on “In God we trust '' as the school’s motto. This motto also served as a constant reminder that success only comes from faith and trust in God. As a French teacher, Mrs. Comfort Ocloo ensured that French as a subject was taught in Pre-School.
The school has grown from 4 pupils to a population of 397 students. We thank God for how far He has brought us.
